Hi, I’m Julie! Storytelling Strategist & Podcasting Mentor who empowers mission-driven women to share their stories through podcasting as podcast hosts and guests.

I’ve been married to my husband Ed for 20 years and we live in Bakersfield, CA where where we were both born and raised. My husband and I currently have 3 cats, 2 tortoises, 1 scorpion, and too many tarantulas to count!

I have my doctorate in Organizational Psychology and worked for almost 20 years in Higher Education within accreditation, assessment, and institutional research. I also taught college classes in Psychology, Statistics, and Leadership. After the pandemic in 2020, I decided to start my own coaching business, something I had dreamed of since completing my doctorate in 2012. Soon after starting my business, I took a class on podcasting which led me to my business today. Now, I am passionate about helping others share their stories through podcasting just like I do.

In January 2025, I spoke at PodFest Expo all about my love of Podcasting, Storytelling, and Advocacy!

I am a dedicated Fur Mom, lifelong animal lover, pet enthusiast, and all around animal advocate. In 2022, I started my first podcast, The Story of My Pet Podcast, about my passion for pets. The purpose of the podcast has expanded to be a platform for advocacy and education in all areas of animal welfare, rescue, fostering, and adoption. It is now a Top 5% Podcast focused on educating and advocating to help animals in need. I love interviewing guests about their pets, their work in animals rescue, and learning how we all can help animals in our own communities, as well as around the world!

In 2024, I launched my second podcast, Podcast Your Story, to support and inspire more women to use podcasting as the medium to share their stories! Whether you want to start your own podcast or be a great podcast guest, telling your story and sharing your unique voice with the world is so important for all women to do. The podcast relaunched in 2025 with a clear focus on supporting women podcasters, podcast guests, and speakers to share their stories with the world!

I am also passionate about creating community for women to support each other, lifts others up, and collaborate. In 2024, I created the Women’s Podcaster Party Networking Community for female and non-binary podcast hosts, guests, and those interested in learning more about podcasting. We have monthly networking meetings via zoom, featured speakers who share their expertise in areas of podcasting and speaking, and now we have a Facebook Group to connect with each other and share our podcasts.
